Review APA Tutorials
Although not required, we recommend you consider reviewing APA's comprehensive tutorials on APA. These are official APA based (text-based) tutorials providing specific instructions on the main aspects of APA writing, citation, and formatting.
Review the APA Support Centre
Remember to review the Library's APA Support Centre. The APA support centre posts many examples of citations (in-text & reference). This includes links to DOI finders, such as Crossref as well as links to additional eBook supports on APA.
Download an APA Sample Paper
The best starting place is to download a sample APA paper that is pre-formatted to APA. Once you have downloaded the template, you can delete the content, and add your own writing and outline headings.
Check the Common Reference Examples Guide
Remember to check the "Common Reference Examples Guide" for commonly used citations. Not every source will fit exactly, but these ones are the most used citation examples.
Conduct a Quick Search of APA
If you're not sure about a citation, conduct a quick search of the official APA Blog. The Blog won't have all examples of all citations, but you can find many examples, such as how to cite
When to Ask a Question?
When you are in doubt about how to cite a source, that's when you can ask a question. In some cases, we may suggest that you contact your instructor or the official APA blog for further clarifications.
