Use Your Program’s Research Guides

Each academic program at Yorkville has three customized research guides with curated collection of resources, databases, and tips designed specifically for your field of study. These guides help you find high-quality sources faster and understand what “good research” looks like in your discipline.

Start with your program’s guide, it’s like a shortcut to better research.

YU LibGuides

There are three types of guides at YU:

Program Guides

Program guides are guides that specifically focus on a program of study at YU. These guides offer links to resources that will be helpful to students as they navigate their program. 

Quick Guides

Quick guides provide information quick information on various subjects. 

Learning Pathway Guide

Learning Pathways are more specific than the other two types of guides. These step-by-step guides will lead students through a particular topic from beginning to end.

Citing

Learn the Basics of APA Style

APA is the required citation style at Yorkville and learning the basics early will save you time and stress later.

Use Zotero to Stay Organized

Zotero is a free tool that helps you:

  • Format APA citations 
  • Save articles and books directly from your browser
  • Organize your sources by project or topic

Start using Zotero early it’ll make your academic life much easier! However, make sure you are checking the citations for accuracy.
