Unit Notes

Another popular question is: how to cite unit notes?

Format

Name of unit, Date. In Course number: Course name [Unit notes]. Yorkville University. Retrieved Current Term Year from URL of Brightspace login page

Note:

  1. The unit notes are in a password-protected LMS, so the URL of the LMS login page is used instead of the URL of the unit notes.
  2. "In" and [Unit notes] are not italicized, but the course name is italicized. The term and year are the current term and year of the course
  3. The "Retrieved  Term Year" must be present because the Unit Notes can change (and have since then)

Example

Unit 1 notes: Introduction to counselling and the therapeutic relationship. (n. d.) In PSYC 6246: Counseling skills and competencies [Unit Notes]. Yorkville University. Retrieved Spring 2025 from https://learn.mycourses.ca/d2l/home/6733

In-text citation

(Unit 1 notes: Introduction to counselling and the therapeutic relationship, n.d.)

Video Example

Unit 7 readings: Methodology [Video]. (n. d.) In DCP 8806: Applied scholarship project and integration seminar [Unit Notes]. Yorkville University. Retrieved Spring 2025 from https://learn.mycourses.ca/d2l/home/22113

Our thanks to the MACP faculty who provided and confirmed the above information!
